What to expect on the day
Our retreat day will begin with a healthy green smoothie on arrival and a chance to meet your teachers and fellow retreatees.
In the first session of the morning we will stretch, strengthen and energise through a graceful sequence of asanas ( yoga postures) in a Vinyasa Flow Yoga class, with Rachel.
After a short break, enjoy a Pilates session with Alexis to help improve posture, ease back pain and target deep internal muscles. Pilates will be followed with a nutritious vegan lunch and some chill and chat time in the relaxing surroundings of our stylish and cosy venue, Victoria Warehouse. The final session of the day will consist of relaxing Restorative Yoga & Meditation with Rachel, to leave you feeling super zen.
Classes will cater for all levels as there will be plenty of alternatives and adaptions on offer to suit each individual.
We aim for you to leave this retreat day with more confidence in your practice, relaxed yet energised in body & mind, warm and content from the inside out having been surrounded in lovely like minded people in a safe and welcoming environment.

About Rachel and Alexis
Rachel and Alexis met in 2006 whilst working at a gym in London. They hit it off immediately with their shared interest of health and fitness and have been great friends ever since. Having always wanted to work together again when the opportunity arose to run a day retreat in Manchester they jumped at the chance. Now both experienced pilates teachers, Rachel predominantly teaching yoga and Alexis an enthusiastic yoga practitioner they are delighted to bring you this Yoga & Pilates day retreat and hope it to be the first of many.
Pilates with Alexis
My Pilates classes are suitable for beginners, right up to the more experienced Pilates participant. My classes will allow you to develop and progress through the different Pilates movement levels at your own pace, will help you to improve your endurance and strength and can help with chronic injuries.
Joseph Pilates first referred to Pilates as ‘contrology’ which we now think of as stability. He developed the Pilates technique to improve his health as he suffered with rickets as a child. He believed that poor lifestyle choices, bad posture and inefficient breathing lead to poor health. Pilates helps you to become more aware of your posture and make appropriate changes.
What you can hope to gain from my Pilates classes? Developing your core muscles which include abdominals, obliques and lower back. Pilates is a low impact style of exercise, so it’s great for anyone with joint pain or joint conditions and for anyone recovering from injury. Pilates looks at realigning the body and balancing out muscle groups to prevent re-occurrence of an injury and reduction in muscle or joint pain.
Pilates is great for toning and building strength, changing body shape and posture and helps you with body awareness for your everyday movements. It’s great for improving mobility and flexibility making you feel more agile; and can improve body imagine and body confidence.

Yoga with Rachel
All my classes are designed to allow each student to go at their own pace whilst working within their own personal boundaries. I encourage the student to gradually stretch and increase those boundaries with grace, courage and strength but no expectation or pressure.
I teach a range of styles from dynamic and invigorating Vinyasa Flow Yoga to deep releasing and relaxing restorative sessions .
My sessions include uplifting and inspiring music, chanting, breath work (pranayama), yoga philosophy and readings from wise gurus, teachers and other brilliant beings from all walks of life that have inspired me along this incredible path.
Yoga changed my life in a truly amazing and positive way and I believe it can do the same for anyone, you just have to find your guru and your style and you will reap the magical benefits this practice has to offer.

Numbers are limited on this day retreat we therefore require payment up front.
Early bird offer of £55 is available up until Friday 31st May at 6pm.
After Friday 31st May at 6pm the price of the retreat is £65.
Cancellations with full refund available until Friday 12th July at 6pm.
Cancellations after Friday 12th July at 6pm are non refundable.
